“This place was PHENOMENAL! Probably best sushi I’ve had in the Bay Area. I went for weekday lunch so it wasn’t at all busy. I got the bento box with sushi and sashimi as well as baked mussels. The sushi was so fresh and the sashimi was super tasty and fresh too. Portions were generous. The mussels were my FAVORITE. The seasoning was so good and the mussels were warm. I am definitely coming back, for the price especially, this place is amazing. Service was very friendly too!”

“My family and I had the chance to try Zuko Sushi during their soft opening today, and we had a really good experience. The food was fresh, with a great variety of options. What stood out to us was that the menu offers more than just traditional sushi and raw fish. There are also several cooked dishes for anyone who prefers not to eat raw seafood, as well as vegetarian options, which makes it a great place for groups with different preferences. The restaurant was very clean and comfortable, and even the plates, dishes, and tableware felt high-quality and thoughtfully selected. The staff was friendly, attentive, and welcoming. Toward the end of our meal, they even brought out a few complimentary samples for us to try and asked for our feedback and suggestions, which was a nice touch during the soft opening. Overall, we had a great experience and would definitely come back again for lunch or dinner with family and friends. Great job to the Zuko Sushi team, and congratulations on the soft opening! 🍣👏”

“Great service, fresh sushi and delicious flavors. We had a table of 12 and got to try many of Zuko's dishes. My favorite was the uni shooters and chawanmushi. Flavors were well balanced, and the ingredients were fresh. Love the fresh real crab in the chawanmushi too! And the spicy salmon crispy rice is a must try! Love these flavors and textures. My kids devoured the World Series roll so fast I didn't get to try one or take a picture. They also really enjoyed the tonkatsu set. The tonkatsu was big and perfectly crispy fried. The chef makes his own tempura sauce which I liked because it was lighter and more refreshing than the typical sauce. Our table also ordered the 12 PC sashimi (all very fresh) tuna tartar (enjoyed it with shrimp chips), crispy riblets & chicken karaage (yum!), perfectly grilled calamari , poke nachos (nice kick), izakaya cabbage salad (crisp & refreshing) and takowasa (I didn't think I'd like it but I wanted more). Definitely recommend because now we're planning to come back for hand rolls, nigiri and more of our faves. Plus they have a good sake selection!”

We got a good sampling of everything at soft opening like the spicy salmon on crispy rice, karaage, soft shell crab baos, sashimi, rolls, tonkatsu bento, poke nachos, and the grilled squid. Food here was incredible and tasted very fresh. Loved the components of each dish and all the sauces including the soy sauce on the table are made in house which is amazing. Service was great and our servers were as beautiful as the experience they offered us when we came in on a busy night. Would definitely recommend! Can’t wait to return (side note: the music here was great too and added to the experience!)”

“Got the honor of trying Zuko sushi during their soft opening and it’s pretty dang good!! My favorites were the salmonster (it’s like sushi-ception with poke stuffed nigiri), crispy rice, and hamachi kama. Literally the best kama I’ve had, soooo juicy and flavorful. My partner got the World Series roll which I didn’t care for because it was stuffed with eel which I don’t generally like, but he loved it. I can’t wait to come back and try everything else!!”

“New sushi spot opened up nearby so my friends and I decided to check out their menu during the soft opening. Overall, pretty solid menu, nice interior and ambiance, and the staff was friendly. Didn't take pictures of all our dishes but these were my favorites: - Poke nachos (9/10): These were so good that we ordered a second round. I love the smaller-sized thin crispy chips and marinade for the poke. The sauce that comes on top is very wasabi forward so if you are sensitive to that, you can ask for it on the side (which we did for the second order). - Chawanmushi (10/10): Soooo delicious and comforting, wish I ordered one for myself instead of sharing with one other person. Got a nice chunk of real crab in there which was a pleasant surprise and the dashi sauce was balanced in flavor. - Izakaya cabbage (8.5/10): Simple side but tasty. I love the crispy crunch from the cabbage and the umami the salted kelp brings to the dish. Wish there was more kelp or a little more seasoning though. - Crispy salmon rice (9/10): The crispy rice base was the perfect thickness and had good proportions to the amount of salmon on top. I like how the salmon marinade wasn't too salty, but I do wish the sauce that came on the bottom of the dish was drizzled on top of the salmon instead. - Tonkatsu set (10/10): Very generous portion for the price. The pork was so crispy and cooked perfectly. Tempura shrimp also done really well and the batter wasn't too thick. I would come back to buy this for lunch and still have another leftover portion for dinner. I'm impressed by the quality of the dishes and pricing and am curious to see how this place does after it's been opened for a while longer. Would recommend checking it out for a quick lunch bite or for dinner with friends (they serve pretty good sake options).”
